Activities
Your child's therapist may practice functional activities with them.

Functional activities are things that we need to do like eating, dressing, and bathing.

Although these activities may seem "easy" to us, they are complex and some kids need extra time and practice.
Be patient, understanding, and (most importantly) loving while your child works on these skills.

Bathing
Bathing is washing the body. For some kids, this is a bath, shower, or sponge bath.

Bathing is important for your child's health and well-being.
Dressing and Undressing
Dressing and undressing are important for independence and other skills like bathing and toileting.

The difficulty of dressing and undressing may change as seasons/weather changes, too.
Grooming and Hygiene
Grooming and hygiene include activities like brushing/combing hair, brushing teeth, and washing hands/face.
Although these skills are sometimes ignored, they are important for your child's health and independence.

Feeding
Feeding is more difficult than we think. It is not instinctual and requires a lot of practice.
